It’s a possible Super Bowl preview in the Thanksgiving nightcap, but not many people are talking about that when San Francisco 49ers visits Baltimore Ravens. Instead the focus is on the Harbaugh Bowl as brothers Jim Harbaugh, of the 49ers, and John Harbaugh, of the Ravens, stage the first meeting of head-coaching siblings in NFL history. The Ravens are 3.5-point favorites on Bodog Sportsbook’s NFL Odds and Lines with live betting available.

San Francisco (9-1) is the only team in the NFL not to suffer an against the spread loss this season and already is 4-0 playing in the Eastern time zone, which is remarkable for a West Coast team. The Niners have won eight in a row since their lone loss, an overtime home affair to Dallas in Week 2. San Francisco mostly does it with running back Frank Gore carrying the offense and QB Alex Smith doing just enough and not making mistakes. Smith, the former No. 1 overall pick, is No. 7 in the NFL in rating and has thrown only four picks.
But really the Niners do it with defense, a unit that hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rusher or rushing touchdown yet this season and ranks tops in the league in rushing yards allowed per game and points. In Sunday’s 23-7 win over Arizona, the Niners held the Cardinals to 229 total yards and forced five turnovers. That clinched San Francisco’s first winning record since 2002 and the 49ers can clinch the NFC West with a win and Seattle loss on Sunday to Washington.
Baltimore (7-3) improved to 5-0 at home last week with a 31-24 win over Cincinnati. Ray Rice finally was utilized more and rushed for 104 yards and two TDs on 20 carries, while rookie WR Torrey Smith had six catches for 165 yards and a score. However, the Ravens defense did allow nearly 500 yards as it played with 12-time Pro Bowler Ray Lewis, who sat with a toe injury. He had started 57 games in a row. Lewis is very iffy for this one but is expected to test the injury a few hours before game-time before a decision is made.
This is the first meeting between Baltimore and San Francisco since 2007. The Niners have covered 12 of their past 16 dating to last season. The Ravens are 0-3-1 ATS in past four as a favorite.
